ABOUT THE ROLE
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education for children and young people (aged 8 – 21) with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs, as well as those with ALN, SEN (Special Educational Needs), and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
We are seeking passionate Personal Development Tutors/Pastoral Support Practitioners/Learning Coaches who are dedicated to transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. This role involves working flexibly and adaptively, either with small groups or on a 1:1 basis, to support children and young people with diverse learning needs. You will use a creative, holistic, and trauma-informed approach to re-engage learners and significantly enhance their educational outcomes. Your efforts will be essential in fostering personal growth and reshaping their personal, social, and educational journeys for the better.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced key workers from various backgrounds who have direct experience working with vulnerable children, young people, or individuals, supporting their social, emotional, and mental health needs, and helping them thrive by removing barriers to learning.
Successful candidates will be passionate about building trusting relationships and relatable to our young people, putting the child's best interests at the core of collaborative decision-making with families, schools, and local authorities. You should be a natural advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion, with a particular focus on supporting those disadvantaged by adverse childhood experiences.
Consistency, patience, and providing support at a pace suited to each child’s needs are essential to this role. Our students, referred by local authorities and schools, may have struggled in mainstream education or missed significant portions of their schooling. Therefore, your commitment and passion are crucial for their success.
